Back in January, I finally made my visit to Trash Kitchen! It is an open-to-public workshop space in Taipei, Taiwan, dedicated to spreading awareness about sustainability. If you find passion in sustainable design but don’t know where to begin, Trash Kitchen is the perfect place to start! (中文請見下方)
Trash Kitchen serves as MINIWIZ’s sustainability R&D center and open-to-public workshops for seeding sustainability awareness.
During this workshop, we were taught the basics of plastic recycling, followed by hands-on experience of turning plastic waste into a wireless charger. The upcycling process starts with sorting, then heating, press forming, and ends with cleaning by smoothening the edges of the plastic parts.
Trash Kitchen is part of MINIWIZ but plastic recycling isn’t the only star on their sustainability portfolio. Founded in 2005, MINIWIZ has been partnering with global brands like Nike to bring sustainable material solutions that extend far beyond recycled plastic.

久等了一年多，終於在今年一月造訪了垃圾廚坊！垃圾廚坊位於台北松菸，這是一個屬於小智研發（MINIWIZ）的永續設計研發中心，同時也是對外開放報名的手作工作坊，有利於推廣環保知識。如果你對永續設計感到好奇卻不知道從何下手，垃圾廚坊的工作坊真的非常適合邁出第一步！
在這次的工作坊中，我們學到了塑膠回收的基礎知識，並親手一步步將塑膠垃圾轉身變成了獨一無二的無線充電器。這個回收再利用的步驟從塑膠分類開始，經過加熱、壓制成形，再最後清潔修整毛邊。，非常充實而且很簡單易懂，連小學生都會成班來上課真的一點也不意外。
